Our recent 5th Annual Month of the Military Child Celebration was a resounding success. From the moment that the children and families walked past registration, they were surprised and delighted at every turn. Face painting, an obstacle course, a pizza lunch, and a plethora of resource tables for military-connected families are only a few of the activities that were provided to these individuals who have given and sacrificed so much for our country.
The event was capped off by a video montage featuring military-connected youth, as well as a live speech delivered by a teen who has experienced the deployment of both parents at varying points in his life. These impactful testimonies truly drove home the difficulties that military-connected kids and teens face, the resilience of their spirits, and the importance of continuing to hold events like this to recognize their strength and bravery.
Next year, we hope to go even bigger – perhaps even an airplane hangar!
